Day 22 - Abstract

I totally forgot about taking a picture today, so I ended up doing a last minute picture. I didn't have much to shoot, but on my quest to find a still life I came across one of my favorite butterflys and took a picture of the wing. LOVE the colors, they're my favorite....and my favorite butterfly too!

Well I was super excited to get home before it got dark and very excited that its such a sunny day. But, alas, as soon as I got home the sky turned to gray and it started to rain on and off. :-/ But at least there was some light so I could go outside and take a picture. This is of a papaya leaf.

Day 14 - Second Saturday at the Garden

Is there a rule about doing more than on picture a day? Well, if there is I'm living on the edge, I couldn't decide on a picture, so I picked two!!!

Day 13 - Stairway to Heaven

It's Friday the 13th and I got an interesting picture. I was by an escallator and snapped a picture and this is what actually came out. I was surprised! No processing, except for the watermark at the bottom :)

Day 12 - Take Two

Since I didn't do a picture yesterday, I decided to do two for today. I wanted to work with lace shadowing, however my lace was too see through to get a shadow, so I did a portrait instead.

Day 10 - Starry Starry Night

The moon tonight was gorgeous, so I went out to photograph the night sky. The moon pictures were typical moon pictures, but I ended up liking the stars amoungst the clouds instead. This is the constellation of Orion.

Day 9 - Mmmmm

Soy Sauce? What? Why? Because I'm sick and have been asleep since I got home and woke up to see this sitting on the counter. Hmmmm better then no pic right?

Day 7 - Doggie Heaven

I was able to go to the beach for a little bit today. There was plenty of people and children there and even though I got a few good shots of cute babies I decided to go with this picture. The beach has always remind me of dogs. To me, when I see a dog at the beach I know they're getting a little slice of heaven and it always brings a smile to my face. :)

Day 6 - Gray Harbor

My friend and I went to the Harbor today during our lunch break to see if we could see any whales. No whales, but did get a few pictures of boats. 

Day 5 - Liquid Glass

Alas, another dark picture, but what can you do? This is a close up of one of those glass blocks that are used in construction. I thought the colors were dramatic :)

Day 4 - Nightly Catch

Looks like I'm going to either practice my night time photography quite a bit, or have a hundred pictures of my cubicle at work (ew!). I forgot that I leave when its dark and don't get back home until its dark again. 


I was at a loss on what to take a picture of today, but while I was outside looking around tonight, I found this spider outside my back door waiting for something to eat. Nava my dog unfortunately licked the web while I was shooting, so I guess no dinner for the spider tonight.


I think I also need glasses, no matter how hard I try I can't get anything in focus.....

Day 3 - Morning Dew

This morning we had a rare misty layer of fog covering the ground leaving dew in its wake. Reminded me so much of the enchanting English country side in the early hours of the morning. This picture is of the fence surrounding the youth correctional facility.

Day 2 - Ho'omaluhia

Went to Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden today. Got some funs shots, but this was my favorite of the day :)

Day 1 - Happy New Year!!!

With 30 minutes to spare before day 2, I make it with my first photograph of the year! This is my first attempt at light writing. Usually its done with sparklers, but they're now illegal in Hawaii, so a cell phone was the next best thing I could find. Enjoy!
